I LOVE the Muppets, and I grew up with 8tracks of Crystal Gayle in the late 70's - this was the BOMB back in its day! Better than Sue Ellen + a bottle of Vodka + Sinister JR Ewing!

@MichaelBrookham The technique of moving the background instead of the foreground to create an impression of motion is widespread in Hollywood etc. It's probably most often used with scenes in cars. THE MUPPET SHOW employed a litany of techniques to generate the impression of what you see on the screen. THE MUPPET SHOW involved a lot of hard work and meticulous coordination.

This is one of the greatest shows ever. I'm a bit stoned at the moment...and as each Muppet joins Lady Cyrstal I could not help but giggle with glee... this brings the happiest of haplessness that is so very difficult to find these days.

Someone told me that Crystal isn't really walking down the stage, that she is walking in one spot and the scenery is moving. It is quite convincing, though.
