  • This is a basic drill that can be taught in a very short period of time. Weather you sling the weapon to the side or over the shoulder both have their pros and cons depending what it is you are trying to do. It all depends on the operator and what they feel comfortable with, We always practice transitions. Our job is to always look for simpler and more effective ways to transition from one to the other. And this Sling helps.

  • This is a training drill to improve transitions when you're out of rounds in the primary, or the primary malfunctions when rounds need to be returned. Also, the drill is improtant to practice for situations when you need to quickly change from covering large open spaces with the long gun to close quarters engagment with the pistol, and vice versa.

Obviously we have no control over the kits since they carry what they're ordered to carry, so we learn to work around it.

  • Over the shoulder = Bad. Sorry.

  • Those soldiers don't need a different sling, they need to carry less shit.

Question: What is the reason for making a fast transition to the secondary weapon if the primary weapon is still functioning?

  • Nice.
