Romney, Ryan answer critics of Medicare position

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his newly chosen running mate Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., answered critics who say Ryan's Medicare plan will hurt the ticket's chances, especially in Florida. The pair sat down with "Face the Nation" anchor Bob Schieffer for their first joint interview which will be broadcast tonight on "60 Minutes" at 7 p.m. ET.

Medicare is not an entitlement. Medicare part A is deducted from social security before the recipient gets their check each month. Part B is payed by the recipient after they get their check each month. They have to live on what is left after they pay their medication. Cut social security safety net so the rich won't have to pay taxes? If anything tax the rich and give to social security so these people can afford clothes, food, and pay rent. 12/12/12

Ryan's budget/health care plan is a huge giveaway to the insurance companies. Think of it. The government would take your taxes to give you a voucher for $7,000 to pay for health care. that's for every single person in this country. That is billions more than they are making now. Plus. there is nothing in his plan to prevent insurance companies from raising rates to all time highs, so if you have a preexisting conditon you will most likely have to match that $7,000 out of your pocket!
