This is an old movie "montage" I recorded in the PC version of Space Hulk, Vengeance of the Blood Angels, set to Blow me away by Breaking Benjamin.

The main focus in this video was close combat of the various forms, with very little ranged added in. In the future I may make a new video, covering all aspects of combat in the game.

Space Hulk is a Warhammer 40,000 game facing you up against a brood of Genestealers and other foes on a derelict Space Hulk, it's path a collision course to an Imperial planet. It was your squadron's task to board the hulk and stop this event from taking place. It mixed RTS and FPS combat ingame with a very fun tactical map with freeze time.

This movie does not have any professional editing, but is still good today.

  • HOW DO YOU ACTUALLY USE THE MELEE ATTACKS? Is there some form of button combinations I need to press?

  • @PreyTheSun On PC, space is melee and tab is block. It's sort of a timing thing, you can't attack straight out always, and your blocking has to be put up a bit before they launch their attack. On Playstation, the respective buttons would be X and O.

  • That thunder hammer sure kicked ass

  • @FoggyHunterX Aw yeah.

  • do you move in this game or is it like arcade area 51?

  • @StanleyBradshaw The game features free movement.

  • what level is this?

  • @PreyTheSun Most of the time you want to avoid melee because then you minimize your chances of being suprise buttsecks by genestealers. However if you are like me and have a stubborn hard on for terminators with thunder hammers the key is timing and their predictable attacks and when to parry and attack, WATCH THEM CLOSELY. If you master this then you only have a 1/10 chance of being killed, however melee is still not suggested as a strategy if you wish to minimize chances of dying.

  • @Ceekur I'm selling one on eBay

  • even though i liked this this game i always thought it was funny that the graphics seemed to really improve when a genestealer was right in front of you. The violence was also really toned down from what it could have been too.

  • Genestealer: I'm gonna get you! >:3 Space Marine: No you're not! =blocks= GS: aww poo >.< SM: I'm gonna get you now! GS: Oh no! D: SM: =pokes= GS: =is sad. explodes from sadness= :<

  • I really don't now how it works.... I installed an emulator on the psp and got the PSx rom running. IM guessing x and o still remain block and attack but i just button mash and die most the time I never seem to get it right. Any tips?

  • just from the look of it, this muste have been an extremly akward gameplay...

it looks just shitty : /

  • wow this looks seriously addictive, if they did a remake of this for more modern consoles it would be ftw, remastered ofcourse.

  • Heh, I remember when I saw this video 2-3 years ago - still enjoyable!

I'm wondering - would you happen to know where I can buy this version of Space Hulk? That is, the PC port of the second game in the series. None of the people involved in making it seem to sell it anymore, and you can't even find a used copy online or anything. I'd like to get my hands on this version if possible.

  • love this on the saturn and it holds up to the PC version much better then the PSX version :)
