So good! Ignatieff definitely wasn't my first choice and he certainly proved to be an inadequate leader, but I still felt sorry for the guy once all of the votes had been counted. That's a tough way to go, no matter who you are.

@shmaveyea Your belief that less government is best is a libertarian ideal. In an ideal world, where market competition gives you better prices and better quality, this would be great. Unfortunately, we do not live in that world. Companies grew, they got extremely powerful and now they exploit that power. They exploit both people and natural resources and they care about money and money only. This is why you need your government to limit their ability to exert that power.

@pubeafro Name me some advantages to having more bureaucracy.. Less government is best.

@1ArchMage I am from Hong Kong and I agree with you on Mercer's intelligence and funniness. Surely I haven't put on any "Canadian glasses", have I? Other than sweeping all different opinions into one category, we may all start to appreciate that other people have other opinions.

@astreocclu lol I'm an Australian and I think Mercer is way more intelligent and funny :)

@Animurh Im canadian and i just voted in the election so i agree. But RMR cant hold a candle to the giant that is stewart, in terms of funny, its not even close. There is more funny in one episode of the daily show (like the glen beck episode) then all of RMR i have seen put together. Any response otherwise is probably is just someone who needs to take off the canadian glasses.

@astreocclu too bad Canada is the greatest country in the world. Also Rick Mercer rocks!

@vid009 agreed.

@Balian49 Wow, what a typical Canadian. response. Jon stewart destroys mercer (colbert does as well).

Exactly, glad others see it also!!!
John Stewart is fine in his own right, but he really isn't as proactive as Mercer is when it comes to comedy, because while Stewart has a team of writers and millions of "informed" twenty somethings to laugh at whatever the fuck he says, Mercer has a FAR lower budget and a FAR smaller and more attentive audience to please.
So yes, Stewart is more popular - of course he is, but yes, coming from someone who watches the Daily Show AND the RMR, Mercer is funnier. End of Story.
