So I finally got the time, equipment and conditions to make a new recording. But what should I record? I learned quite a number of new pieces during the past months but I just didn't feel like playing any of them. Having been listening to the great Yatsuhashi Kengyo's Koto music and getting overly enchanted with it, I decided to learn a new piece: Sakura! Unfortunately I did not have too much time to practice. But now I am on my last days in Turkey, getting ready to go back to the US for school... ..with my new guitar that I bought recently. I am very happy with it :)

Sakura means "cherry blossom" in Japanese, and the guitar piece is based on a simple Japanese folk song. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sakura_%28folk_song%29 for the original song.

Keep it up, the awesome work.

  • Teşekkür ederim. Müziği bırakmayacağım. Türkçede müzik "oynamak" değil, müzik "çalmak" denir ;) Sana gitarda iyi şanslar.

  • Wow. I stumbled across your Satie piece and was impressed, so I checked out some of your other stuff. Very nice. It is obvious you put a lot of passion in your playing. How would traditional Turkish music sound on classical guitar?

  • Thank you. You can watch /watch?v=3F0bGt0DEbo to see a blend of Turkish and Latin music on the guitar.

  • Excellent...

  • Incomprehensible...

  • uh dude, this must be your own version because its quite different from the original arrangement from Yukihiro Yokoh.... also try to play it a little slower, with more feeling and no string bending please, leave that to death metal solos =) check out the version played by Per-olov Kindgren

  • Great! Thank you very much to share. It's very difficult and you play great! Thanks again.
