@moseseseseses I am not sure where you are getting this idea that the KJV is the true bible. I would love for you to list your many study resources that support this belief. While the KJV is viewed as a highly accurate TRANSLATION, you must remember that it is just that ... a translation, and one of many. The original greek and hebrew text is most accurate, but most people don't know those languages. Thank God the BIBLE is translated in many languages, and they are not the KJV ... obviously.

He is not using the King James Version Bible , which is the true bible, which tells you they worshiped and served the creature, more than their creator. They worshiped statues of stone depicting animals and such. You see folks, when you sit under someone who doesn't use the real Word of God, the King James Version bible, you are going to hear all kinds of mis-interpretations. Find you a pastor that loves and uses the King James Version bible, and then you will hear the real Word of God.

You're right. True bravery... and true freedom... lies in understanding that there's no way of knowing the mind of god, or if there is a god, or what's to come after death... and being OK with that.

I'd also add that this "construct of man" (very well put!) was also created to control... it's a way to keep a society stable and to have them do as the "elders" tell them to do.

Do you suppose anyone has ever told this guy that religion and the bible is a construct of man? That it might behoove him to imagine that it was created so he wouldn't feel so small and alone?

I'm guessing biggpopa72's circular reasoning hasn't permitted him to have an original thought or argument someone else hasn't put there, or an instance where he didn't consult the great fairytale book of all-- the bible.

It's far easier to spend life with one's head buried in the sand.

One last thing. It doesn't matter whether it was old testament or new, it was still WRONG to have those be part of the commandments. Not only that, there are plenty of similar things in the new testament... and I'm not even talking about Revelations.

If your god is a just god, then he would never condone those things. Either god is wrong or the bible is wrong. I think it's obvious that it's the bible... I would hope god is a lot smarter than that book.

I only let it bother me because, as i stated before, many christians use their faith as an excuse for bigotry and dicrimination. that is an un-refutable fact.

How sad that you are not open to additional knowledge and want to remain trapped in the beliefs of an obsolete, discriminatory book and religion. I hope someday you will see reason.

You shouldn't let something you don't believe in bother you so much. Go on and live your life. I will go and live mine. God created the world and we came along and messed it up. He has the right to do whatever he wants. All that stuff is all old testament stuff. That stuff didn't really happen after he sent his son to be punishment for us. Please don't respond. I will just delete the email. What i believe is not debatable. Maybe one day things will be different and you will see it his way.

Why should I believe what your bible says, when it also says that it's OK to sell your daughter into slavery (in fact slavery is pretty much OK in the bible), that pre-marital sex is punishable by death, that a rape victim must marry her attacker, you must kill people who work on the Sabbath, and on and on and on. Do you REALLY know your bible? How can you defend these crazy bible verses? what God would make up such crazy stuff?

Your argument defies all logic.

Only 1/3 of the world population is Christian. The chance that this is the ONLY way back to God is pretty slim... esp since there's no evidence, only "faith".

By the way, it's NOT a sexual "preference". Whether biological or pyschological, it's innate & NOT a choice to feel this way. God created us this way.

Want proof? God created the other animals too, right? Well, scientists have conclusively shown that over 1,500 species have gay individuals too!

There is only one and it's Jesus Christ. I'm not going to go any further with this. I'm not judging you on your sexual preference and no real christian should, but me saying that a Homosexual who loves and excepts who he is does not believe the bible, therefore not getting into heaven. Its has nothing to do with judging. Same goes for the guy having sex with his girlfriend everyday. If he or she truly believes the ,they can't go on sinning in that manner. I guess we'll see when we die.
