For some people, knuckle-cracking is a habit; for many of them, it can bring relief. In this Signs and Symptoms video from Veria Living we see what is really going on in our fingers when we make them go snap, crackle, pop?

  • I like cracking my knuckles a lot, and i do it extremely often, sometimes my fingers just feel stiff if i dont do it, as if something is constricting their movement and when i crack them they go back to normal. Lately though i have started experiencing some pain in my right pinkie, same sort of pain i get when i put my leg that i've broken 3 times in cold water. Should i be worried ?

  • @Sp17f1r3 It is very hard to give a proper diagnosis over the internet. If you are worried you should seek professional medical opinion. We hope it is nothing serious...

  • right all i want to know is. I cracked my knuckles most of the time kind of habit. for the last 10 years ish and i am only 16 so i wondered is there any permenent damage

  • @MrJasonrolfe Just cracking the knuckles on its own shouldnt cause any problems. But if you have problems with your joints, or if they ever become painful and swollen, you should go and see a doctor as you might have complications

  • @BlackWaterAgent my neck and back too

  • I love cracking my knuckles and my toes. I just love the way it feels and the way it sounds. I've been cracking my fingers and toes for so many years now that it became a hobby of mine.

  • take that mother!

If it hurts - it's bad. If you find it became worse after treatment; you've obviously had an incompetent chiropractor. If he's there to adjust your spine for the better and makes it worse; that can't possibly have been the correct procedure, no?

Perhaps you should seek a better one outside of town. If you still have these issues.

  • @robotpanda77 No you didn't make yourself clear because you write tangentially. You are disrespectful and it will come back to haunt you son. Here's evidence: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1004074/?tool=pmcentrez

  • @chancebadger Did I not make myself clear enough the first time you fucking loser? The world is a better off place without you. There is no documented proof for your claims. Go die of AIDS and do the world a favor.

  • @chancebadger We all die eventually. Stop being such a fucking buzzkill asshole. Why can't science ever come out and say "hey sex with strippers cures disease" it always has to be some depressing shit. Fuck off.

  • @BlackWaterAgent You will start to give a F*** later when you have to crack them to even to return to normal range of motion like an old granny getting out of bed... and then I will sympathize with you.

  • @Sp17f1r3 That movement constriction is exactly why you should not habitually crack your knuckles. I would advise you to stop cracking them unless absolutely necessary.
