I went to Kent State University and grew up in nearby Akron. The KSU shootings affect us to this day. My aunt and uncle were there during the shootings, and had an unfavorable opinion of the protesters due to my uncle's experience after serving. Many of my teacher and friends' parents went to Kent State. Debate still go on to this day whether the guards men were in the right. People in that area still think that anyone that opposes the government should be killed. Even the occupiers.
