it seems as if every few months when there's a slow news cycle you rediscover youtube and the fact that some youtubers make money off of it. It's baffling to me how after 3 years you fundamentally don't understand the partner program which allows over 10K plus youtubers to enable ads on their videos. a simple call to google who you've covered countless times could probablyt help clear up any lingering questions you have. Recently in what has been your 5th or 6th redicovery of youtube, which by the way, enough people know about now that you don't need to pretend like ur breaking news to the world when you talk about it. as i was saying in your rediscovery this time around you seem very preoccupied with the monetary side of things. it's very disappointing when "legitimate" companies such as yahoo and msnbc take a hack article and try to make it front page news especially when the article is barely researched, poorly put together and above all erroneous. we get that you wana know how much tubers make, but hopefully by now you understand its in the google adsense contract that people can't reveal how much they make. obviously you have taken this as a mission to try and be the first to break the ecpm code or capture a youtuber sliping up and telling you how much they make. spoiler aret to save ur time and energy, its not gonna happen. and going after this like its somehow the watergate or some other huge news piece that would make ur career and change everyting, shows just how much journalistic integirtiy and journalism in general have died in this country. we are not hollywood. we didn't start making videos to become famous. we don't want the poperatzi, we don't want to hand over our private lives and we don't want to be apart of the celebrity culture you seem to think we wish we were apart of. we want to make videos we love, buliding and connecting to an audience that we love for loving what we love. and some of us, those that work the hardest, want to take this passion and attempt to make a living off of it. cause everyone high school career counseler has always said to make your job what you love to do. if you want to write about the content that's fine, we could honestly care less cause there's this thing youtube has called the comment box. we live our lives on people telling us how they feel about a particular piece of content. good bad or indifferent. and we get that you "dont get it" and we've known that for sometime so its kinda boring to hear it every time. although since you're not our audience, we don't need you to get it or help you in any way, get it. not that you need to be nice to us in any way but if you ever wrote an article that was flattering or "got it" we'd probably link to it and it would get more views than all your other articles combined from now till the end of your career. its not our fault your medium is dieing, and its not our fault that every year more and more of you are laid off. those are facts you can't escape. but maybe just maybe if you tried to cover us in a fair way or incorperate us instead of bashing, pigenholeing, and above all being condesending to us as if we're less than you maybe you'd have an article worth reading and an industry worth saving. till then we'll stick with the bloggers and vloggers that cover us. they get us even if they don't like some of our content. in summation. regain some class and go out with dignity. i suppose one day you may find out how much the top youtubers really make. but it won't save your job or ur industry and it'll be read by only a handful of people comparted to how many watch whoever's salary your exposoing. and if your main question from this is why do i care. its cause like i said before. we're not the celelbrity culture. we are a community. friends. and when you think ur bashing a college of mine, or a peer in my industry, or however it is you view how we view each other, you're actually bashing my friends. and no one has ever gotten away with that. and that includes you. thank you for your time.

well said. The Media is pathedic. Because it just cares about Celeberty culture at least as far as I can tell. I just wish it would cover things that truely matter and with honesty.
