  • so i got it all in right i think but for some reason the home, back, search, and the foursquare dont work on the lower park of the screen help please!!! every thing else works screen responds great just not those four things

  • @baldydw The keypad buttons are part of the touch screen. The likely cause for this would either be because of a loose connection on the touch screen digitizer, a rip on the touch screen flex cable, or if the adhesive is not giving enough "lift" from the LCD screen.

  • @RepairsUniverse what would cause it not to have enough lift every thing else looks good PLEASE HELP every thing else is GREAT THANKS FOR THE VIDEO

  • @baldydw Normally that would be caused by too little adhesive. Some screens use pre attached adhesive, which should be the correct thickness. Or our adhesive sold at RepairsUniverse (dot) com is the correct thickness. But if using the old adhesive or glue, etc, it can allow the touch screen to touch the LCD screen, causing the screen to not read the "touch" on the lower part. This is unlikely, but always a possibility on the Atrix.

  • Thanks for the video it helped a lot, question I broke the small ribbon cable that connects to the front facing camera, does this really do anything I have tested it out and it does not seem to be an issue, but I was wondering what it did

  • @tigerbarr No problem at all. The flex cable is the motherboard flex cable and it will depend on where it is damaged. Normally you will have issues either with the touch screen, mic, or front camera. I would just test those features out and make sure everything you need working, is working. Otherwise, replacing it would be the best option. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • Just finished doing this to replace my broken digitizer. I now have a working phone, with a few notes that might help someone else avoid some trouble. - My old eyes didn't want to see this. I could have used some sort of magnifier to work under. - Need good lighting to work under. - I didn't get a complete seal with the adhesive and backlight leaks through. - The adhesive strips make the digitizer stand above the edge of the case.

But, it works! Thanks for the video and parts.

  • @griznog Thanks for the great advice. And no problem at all!

A few things about the adhesive, be sure to completely cover the areas needing adhesive, leaving no gaps - otherwise light leaking can occur as well as dust can enter the screen. If the adhesive is making the digitizer sit tall, simply heat the adhesive and apply some pressure until it cools. This works great to give it a more "professional" install touch.

  • @vidvivek2009 A replacement motherboard is about your only solution that I know of. We deal mostly with hardware issues, software is an area we have little experience with.
