- A necklace with matching earrings tends to be too matchy, matchy. It ends up looking very mother of the bride, or in the words of Michael Kors, its DTM, dyed to match. Accessories need to coordinate, instead of looking like you bought them together.
- Gold and silver will work with anything and yes, can be mixed, but as a guideline, gold is best with brown and silver works with everything else.
- For women, a good rule of thumb is no more than 5 accessories. For men, 3 is the limit.
CORRECTION: A fifth accessory would be a bracelet on my other wrist in this video. I pointed to my wrist that already has a bracelet, but that would not be an additional accessory stackable or multiple bracelets on one wrist counts as one accessory. If you have a bracelet on both wrists, then yes, that counts as two pieces.
