This shootout is most helpful for those who are looking at the OPTICS and KEYING.

This is by no means a scientific shootout, but this is what us video professionals do on our spare time :) Brought to you by Triple Spiral Productions. Before you comment, understand that we were just having some camera green screen test fun with these well known cameras. We tried to keep the basic settings the same, and they are noted in the video. If you want scientific results, we invite you to conduct an experiment yourself, and we will toast to your video prowess!

  • @mhafeez yeah its clearly a 4:2:0 vs 4:2:2: and the new canon c300 is actually also 4:4:4, canon sells it for 20k, the red scarlet does a great job but with tons of add on gear.

im still trying to decide what i can buy for 3500 euros that shoots as cllean as the Ex3 here and the Panasonic HPX 170

  • sony ex 3 wins

  • Any more updates with this, any chance that a Slr under 3000 bucks can do this, the cnon c300'is 10k!

  • Well that's quite enlightening! Thanks! I was wondering how much better this Sony was, and it certainly is much better in these simple, but very normal tests...

  • if it's just random stock footage for bg, which would be well shot/lit, then it's going to be more consistent or biased to a better image such as a DSLR.

  • Thankx for the video, it wasn't surprising that the T2i/7D had blocky edges as they are 4:2:0 color space. But EX3 was a surprise since that is also a 4:2:0 camera. Also can I assume you shot the panasonic video in DVCPRO 50 Codec?

  • It looks like even the Sony nex-3 does just as good a chroma key as the more expensive canon t2i. Thanks for the vid

  • who would hate this music man, it's pure happiness!
