潮州工夫茶,是指流传于潮州一带的饮茶习惯,既是一种茶艺,也是一种民俗。

中国是世界茶叶的祖宗,至今仍是世界茶叶主产地、出口国。据《神农本草》载,神农尝百草,日遇七十二毒,得荼而解之。(荼,是茶的古称。)可见神农氏时代就已经有茶了。茶­初时作为药用,后来发展成为饮料。汉时已兴饮茶之风,唐时更加普遍,在清代潮州工夫茶早已知名。据《中国文化百科》记载,工夫茶,中国茶俗之一。福建汀州、漳州、泉州和广­东潮州地区最为流行,是清代以来继唐宋茶俗而新兴起的一种茶道。综观各地的工夫茶,以潮州工夫茶为最精致、最著名,并随着潮人的足迹传播国内海外,有潮水的地方就有潮州人­,有潮州人的地方就有潮州工夫茶。

茶艺,有名、有形,是茶文化的外在表现形式:茶道,是精神、本质,是必须通过心灵去感悟的东西。艺、道结合,物质与精神圆融统一,艺中有道,道中有艺。和、敬、精、乐,这­就是潮州工夫茶道的核心。。。。
