Let this be a reminder to all you worthless union fucks that your days are numbered in trucking, hopefully this trend will continue because a good worker is a union worker who is out of work ha ha, CF could not have picked a better day to shit can your worthless stank asses, all you teamsters are is drain and burden to trucking companies and it's about time they rid themselves of you, it is my hope that UPS,ABF and YRC can do the same but hopefully keep their doors open, non union carriers rock!

Its hard to believe that was 10 years ago. I was working at Overnite Transportation in Indy at the time. The old CF facility is now a huge Old Dominion terminal. The company behind us still has 3 Corn Flake trailers they use for storage. Pretty neat.

Emery was sold to UPS in about 2004. Since Emery was a third of our work, they let a third of us go which included me. I got a big 18 week severance pay for 36 years of service. I shouldn't complain because that is more then the CF employees got, some of which were there longer then me

So they bought a floundering Emery Air Freight and stuck (scuttlebutt) another $700 million in and ended up with Con Way and Menlo Logistics. What ever happened to Emery part? Don't have a clue.

@nd318865 I was working for CF at the time of the Emery purchase in 1990. I was told that CF had over 300 million from the sale of Freightliner sitting in the bank and had to do something with it.

They are now Con Way a non union LTL carrier and Menlo Logistics. Menlo Park, CA. Logistics is where the person answering the phone makes the money and the driver does all the work.

They had plenty of money to buy Emery Air Freight. Sunk a $billion plus there. Bought the four Con Way divisions and slowly while"Not competing for the same freight" end quote Western Regional VP Mike McConnell about 1994 Elk Grove, CA meeting of numerous western states union employees and company non union salary employees, meeting to broaden all CF employees paradigms regarding "our" future.
