Often, we take them for granted. But few people have such an impact on all of our lives, and the lives of our children, as educators.

I would really like to see the word "super" banished from all our rhetoric - both pro and con - regarding what teachers do and what they are supposed to be. Truth is, these are regular folks doing a very challenging job. When people start flinging around terms like "super" and "extraordinary" it raises the expectation level and puts the teacher under a performance microscope. Even the teachers who are merely ordinary are doing a wonderful job and deserve our recognition. They all work hard.

Please show that to anyone thinking that their jobs stop at the classroom door. Sadly the job great teachers are doing everyday lies inside the shadow of those who don't.
