Flag Day Last Refuge of the Scoundrels

Are you proud yet? Or still proud? The utter hypocrisy regarding NATIONALISM backed up by empty symbols, or worse...the denial of humanity as a whole, in favor of one nation over another, is meaningless. But it will be brought up, every time, once people begin to question those 'symbols'.
What we should ALL be waving is a blank flag, a sign of peace and the desire to be left alone, when someone is trying to blow your head off. Yet, even these flags are no longer respected...

keypointist: you may want to do a reality check occasionally: at present, the US is one the most reviled nations on the planet. I see, that you like Coldplay and Pink Floyd. Evidently, you don't understand the message in that music, because they aren't rallying around a flag. As far as me being decadent: I live in a 1-bedroom apt + drive a 10 year old car. Reviled nation?

Being right and being popular are not the same. The US was reviled only because of the high handed manner of George W Bush. Clinton and Obama were/are popular even though they did/will pursue simillar interventionist policies in the world. The unpopularity was all about George W Bush and he is history.

By decadent I mean that you take for granted the freedoms that you enjoy - freedoms that are protected by the same reactionary patriotic forces that you sneer at.
