I have the exact same car with the same problem. The technician at BMW says its the break pad sensor which is in the rear right hand side. I am also embarrassed by the sound, but this is north worth picking a fight with the dealer.

I have an '07 335i with the same problem. A friend mechanic suggested that I spray the rotors with transmission fluid them break from 40 MPH. It has been 5 days now and the annoying noise is gone!!! Good luck.

I had BMW replace my brake pads, and the squeaking went away for a year. But it just came back this week. The service manager told me yesterday that when I am on a side road and slam on my brakes, the squeaking will stop for a little. I tried it, and it does stop the squeaking for a little, but it does come back. This noise is very embarrassing, but you just have to learn to live with it sadly. Gorgeous car otherwise.

Havin a similar sound with my G35

BMW not taking responsiblity for this problem is a joke. My pads aren't even at half wear yet, and I've been having this problem for the last 20,000 miles. I have extended maintenance and warranty plans, and they said they won't cover it because "noise" is not covered.
@Ghines - I did replace the brakes with aftermarket pads but the sound isn't gone. As I've mentioned before, the problem is not with the pads, it is in the design of the brake sensor in conjunction with the pad.

The way I see it, a squeaky brake is a small price to pay for amazing power and handling of the 3er.

@fluffyman - German cars have never been to reliable. You should take a look at Audi or MB, especially the older ones. Mostly they are barely alive.

Guys,
Many apologies for not responding; I posted this video back in '08 and haven't looked back since.
First, let me say this:
There is no way to fix this problem directly from BMW; The problem is in the design of both the pads and rotors for the E9x's, as well as the position of the brake pad wear sensor.
The only solution is to buy aftermarket pads and rotors.
Hope this helps and good luck.
