A vid of me doing 18 full range pullups from a Dragondoor meet back in 2005. The rules were:
1. Tactical grip (thumbless grip)
2. Must be full range of motion (no only-going-halfway-down crap)
3. No Bouncing
I weighed 162 lbs on this day. I got 18 reps, which was a new PR for me so I was very happy. IIRC, the winner did 21 reps. I came in 2nd place.
I know pulling to the back of the neck can be bad, but I'm extremely flexible and move my head forward so my hands aren't really behind my neck; they're on the same plane as my shoulders. I'm not suggesting other people do it this way, but it works for me. It's no different than the pullup stations that have the bar cut out where your head goes so you don't hit your head on the bar. You get into trouble when you have people doing lat pulldowns behind the neck and the hands are actually behind the shoulders. When in doubt, pull to the front :)
I'm 15 and I can do 10
