To add sand to a fish tank, you should always keep the opening of the bag under water. This will help the sand fall to the bottom of the tank, instead of getting stuck and floating on the surface! Also be sure to turn OFF your filters! Sand can destroy the pump in your filter! Wait until the tank looks clear, then turn them back on. Don't worry, your fish will be just fine without filters for a couple hours! Leave your heater plugged in, but unplug the filters.

  • Everyone stop he needs to wash out the sand before he put it in with the fish

  • Nice tank. What works for me is to wet the sand first. Then take scoops in my hands and lay it at the bottom. Or you can put the wet sand in a plastic bag and lay that at the bottom and slowly open it. This helps to keep the sand from dispersing all over the water column

  • @earthling1984 did you make a video on how to make a salt water tank if not how?

  • I am starting a freshwater tamk with fine white sand. I just put it into the tank and it literally made the water so cloudy that it looks like milk. thank god i dont have any fish in there yet. Is it a good Idea for me to run the filter to help the water clear up? and how long do you think it will stay cloudy like this?

  • hwo do you keep your clown fish that small? iv had a few in the past and they all got to big for me to keep
