Old and New met in Glenview on June 19th, 2008, as Metra train 2152 with cabcar 8540 and F40PH 123 met Outbound Metra train 2145 with MP36 415 and cabcar 8510. The engineer blew the nicely tuned K5LA on 415 to alert people that couldn't see the northbound that was on the other side of train 2152 (this is normally a quiet zone). Enjoy!

  • I like the fact that Metra MP36PH-3s have "Real" locomotive bells... Cant stand those electronic bells on New Metrolink loco's. I fear its only a matter of time before I hear my first surfliner with one.. UGHHHH.

  • don't say that, i can hardly imagine metra with those cars, i think metra is just fine the way it is!

  • Metras look way cooler than CalTrains.

  • @joe9320 there was a us flag on the f-40ph as well at 1:12 but it was near the front of the loco not near the rear like on the mp36 not sure why they put it on mabey cause its an american railroad not sure if amtrak operates the company or not though but they look good dont ya think?
