  • I honestly think this is one of his very greatest, mostly underappreciated songs. It's up with his best, and therefore up there with the best ever.

  • His right hand is miraculous

  • Since Fairport Convention, I've listened. This song is one that lives in my heart, expresses the unspoken wishes of so many. To be accepted & loved without condition..who hasn't wanted this wish to come true? Richard Thompson is genuine & one of the greatest musicians ever. I thank the person who made this available & thank Mrs Thompson for Richard Thompson.

  • My favorite guitarist /singer/songwriter since first hearing him on Rumor and Sigh. I watch him and am embarrassed to say that I "play" guitar myself. He's on another planet.

  • thanks for the compliment daf827. i brought RT in that day for a session of a series we used to do. guests stretched from buddy guy to lou reed to godsmack. fun times. i recall, as some below do, not realizing how deep this song was until he unfurled it in front of us. the room is a closet, and the audience of six (including camera dudes) could barely fit. thanks to joni36 for the liberation. - jim macnie

  • joni36 delivers again! thx for posting! sublime. Hard to believe VH1 would have someone of Richard's caliber do a show like this.

  • It's such a tense song, restless and driving. I love the way he plays percussively.

  • For some crazy reason I overlooked this song on the cd until I was listening to it on 'shuffle'. I'm thinking currently that it's pretty close to a perfectly crafted and executed song. The lyrics are so brilliant; clever and yet so sweet and full of feeling. The singing is just sublime, the harmonies on the cd perfect. He is so SO good.

  • But not miraculous.

  • His left is brilliant too. :-)
