What a nice ghazal sung by Salman Alvi..After a long time very very ghazak I listen from Salman Alvi. Andaz e bian a ndaz e siung both are marvolous.enjoyed it very much with this ghazal. Its great adition for good listners they will enjoy this ghazal.

@KDKAPOOR ..it is nice that you are an admirer of the late Madam Noor Jehan...oh what a wonderful, beutiful woman she was..I remember visiting her in Hospital in 2000 in Karachi, she was clearly very ill.I tried to lift up her spirits by requesting she get's better quickly,so she can perform a concert for me in EU-as she was very inquisitive about the shows I had done with Mehdi Hassan sahib 6 months earlier..she smiled and replied"INSHALLAH-AGLE JANAM MEH ZAROOR TUMHARE LIYE GAWUNGIH MEH

Dear Brother. When I see something nice on UTube, I thanks the inventors and the folks who post wonderful music for our enjoyment. Music, more than anything else, is a unifying glue that bring all of us together. The Late Noor Jehan sang and left this world with infinite treasure of beautiful songs which I have heard over and over and never tire of. Recently I found that some young ladies were also singing the same songs and some of them are doing a pretty good job of it 2.

@KDKAPOOR ..Dear ..I apologise unreservedly if I seem to have offended you in any way..by using the term"Clear the air" as this is just the way the saying goes..I just wanted to clarify the fact that this Video song has been sung by Mr SALMAN ALVI..therefore credit should go where it is rightly due .

I am also familiar with MR ASHOK KHOSLA'S VERSION..on UTUBE.

That version too is unique in it's own way..and in my eyes both singers are GREAT..LIKE YOURSELF TOO SIR!

I found one link of OPNayyar (composer ) and Ashok Khosla singing..Strangely enough all these renditions by "different"singers run around six and a half minute... I do not doubt that the musicguru is right (otherwise why call him guru ). all of these seem good.The poetry is good. The compositions are good and so are the various singers. Let's just enjoy. Thanks for the post.

Dear Musicguruji. You must be right and I apologise... there was no stink in the air and none needs to be cleared. My knowledge of music is very limited. I heard this song in the early eighties on an album titled...something like "rising stars of the eighties". Jagjit gave me the album and that led me to presume he composed the song. The vocal still seems to come from Ashok Khosla. Perhaps you could find the albbum/cd and listen to it and correct me completely.

KDKAPOOR@..For your information,the master of this beautiful Ghazal in this Video..was.. none other then the master of Ghazals ..MR SALMAN ALVI ..and THIS IS HIS VOICE..and not Ashok Khosla? as you claim.

The Lyrics are of the renowned poet Rahi Masoom Raza..although Ashok Khosla too sang this. but.. the credit or ..Garland of roses FOR THIS goes to Mr Salman Alvi-a genius musician since the age of 4. Ghazal in this video is not sung by Ashok Khosla .

I hope I have cleared the air here!!
