It doesn't have to be crit, you just have to attack him with anyone that can survive and hope for the best. The 3 first bosses are all probably the worst since you're so unprepared to face them.

@ThunderManEX Yea I got lucky, just beat the chapter 3 boss. Had to get a crit from Nevarre killing edge, a iron sword hit from orma, and then a steel axe hit with Baurst or w/e his name is.

This game is making FE6 look easy lol

Yeah for the chapter 3 Boss you need the crit from the Killing Edge. After that I hit with the Devil Axe which is surprisingly accurate in this game.

As cheap as this may sound I had a hard time beating the boos... I had no choice but to constantly use the the castle to recover while I puporsly wasted the boss's durability weap of the hand axe. Your lucky you got Ogma with a crit lol!
