A stupid left hook, forcing me to skid to avoid them.
Complete lack of planning ahead when they knew they were turning left.

Highway Code Rule 167
DO NOT overtake where you might come into conflict with other road users. For example
* approaching or at a road junction on either side of the road
* when you would force another road user to swerve or slow down
* stay behind if you are following a cyclist approaching a roundabout or junction, and you intend to turn left

Rule 170
Take extra care at junctions. You should
* watch out for cyclists, motorcyclists, powered wheelchairs/mobility scooters and pedestrians as they are not always easy to see. Be aware that they may not have seen or heard you if you are approaching from behind
* watch out for pedestrians crossing a road into which you are turning. If they have started to cross they have priority, so give way

  • nasty. looked like you had to scrub a fair bit of speed. v crappy driving

  • @rogerhotuk Locked the back wheel up even though I was not going that fast. He saw me, hence the wide angle on the turn but choose to continue regardless.

  • appalling driving, i always ride in the middle of that junction - coombe lane attracts the numpties.

  • @Testedecazzo I'll bear that in mind as I was testing a possible new commute route to work which is shorter, but has worse roads.

  • thats happened to me in that exact location near raynes park

  • That driver needs a driver improvement course IMO.

  • I'd have chased me down and had it out with them. Fuckwitt.

  • That was pretty bad! Good anticipation on your part!

  • I wasn't so lucky coming home on Friday. Nothing cataclismic, I only got knocked onto my feet but I did squash something I'd rather not have squashed as I slid off the saddle.

  • As others have said, the ped saved you a lot of grief there.
