The Wurlitzer at the Regent Stamford Hill, London had a reputation for being one of the best. Leslie James opened it in 1929.

  • Thanks for posting this, A60stock. The Wurlitzer has an incredibly full and rich sound. A little bit of history from a gentler age!

The Regent Stamford Hill is now a branch of a well-known supermarket. In my view, that's a net loss to London, and to civilisation generally!

How great it would be if today's cinemas offered extra entertainment such as Leslie James, instead of 30 minutes of trailers and adverts!
