I know it's a bit of old news, but this is a video of Cxbx going ingame with my favourite Xbox game, Azurik: Rize of Perathia!
I know it's not exactly looking good, but let's face it, Azurik is probably the hardest Xbox game to emulate. Microsoft couldn't do it, and I honestly believe that Cxbx is NOT capable of fully emulating this game with Direct3D! OpenGL is our best bet.
There are a number of problems when emulating this game. You'll notice that 3D is highly distorted. I believe the problem lies in the problem with emulating the vertex shaders. I've never seen a game use any Xbox games use vertex shaders the way Azurik does, and I don't know how to duplicate it either. It's really strange how it works and I haven't found/thought of any solutions yet. Some things Azurik does cannot be emulated using PC standard Direct3D either. This game also has heavy pushbuffer usage, which is why the game engine is SO efficient, but Cxbx lacks certain features of pushbuffer emulation such as the ability to use them with vertex shaders and fixups. If I can find a solution for those things, maybe I can fix it.
The biggest problem is that this game crashes after using an elemental power. No idea why it does that and I'm not sure if there's a fix for that either. And some of the textures are improperly used. Lots of stuff to fix and I hope that this game can be emulated soon. Thanks for watching.
Don't take my word for it, but i think microsoft only worked on games that had average to high reviews, and this game has below average reviews. Also, the xbox emulator for xbox 360 is capable of attempting to emulate any game. some games that weren't on the BC list played fine with a hacked version of the dev emu.
