Call a spade a spade. He was upset because of unjust war on Islam, tha's all

Since the Iraq Invasion/War an average of 30 military personnel have attempted suicide each month. The difference between past suicide attempts and Maj Hassan is in the past soldiers turned their guns on themselves where he turned his gun on others. This is scary stuff and needs to be addressed by going after the root cause rather than treating the symptom by calling him a religious zealot.

This is true so long as everyone measures up to the same mental, psychological endurance. Personally I believe everyone has different stress levels. Some can handle very little where others can completely switch off their emotions & feelings. Judging by this incident, Maj Hassan appears to be the former. Yes this doesn't absolve him of the crime I'm concerned more about how many others are at the breaking point. We cannot ignore War Stress by over deployment. Look at the military suicide rate?

although i do agree with you on some of these views one thing you must realize, and this is coming from a soldier who was present during the shootings and am currently deployed, is that MAJ Hassan had never deployed in his entire military career another possible reasoning was the simple fact that he didnt agree with the war and felt he must do something about it. however what he did was wrong and he should be given the death sentence. mental? yes PTSD? no

fuck hassan kill him, cut his fucking head off, and set him on fire, kill terroist.

I understand that you strictly want to view this on an individual level, but I am not.
How long can we send our military personnel into two war fronts before they mentally crack?
I have several relatives who are already up to 3 or 4 tours between both countries, that's not good, and all told common stories of fellow serviceman committing suicide. Something needs to be done before it gets to a critical point. War stress is not good, and the only solution I know of is bring our troops home.

Give me a fucking break. It's not just that he never actually deployed to a combat zone; Hasan didn't even treat troops who had done so. The people he dealt with (by the way, if he had been my doctor at any point I would be unbelievably pissed) were those who were ABOUT to ship out. In other words, he has not had any more connection to "trauma" than you or me. Stop making excuses for and ignoring the glaringly huge elephant in the room: he is a radical Muslim, and proud of it to boot!

Did not Hassan scream Allah Akbar before he started shooting?

I bet you the PDST number for Russian troopers are much higher...

Since when was Russia your country?
Wrong. Afghanistan has been running for waaay longer than Iraq.

He could have been a Manchurian Candidate just like in the movie Conspiracy Theory. MK-ULTRA is an actual CIA project for mind control and both Nidal Hasan and the Korean student Chung who shot up a college campus were both affiliated with CIA financed institute Virginia Tech.
