UVIC Nursing practicum student Carl Jacks sets his sights, and his kayak on the Bella Coola Valley in the early summer of 2009. Trading his video equipment for a point and shoot camera, viewers are are taken on a photo tour of this special region starting with the Bella Coola General Hospital. Other scenes include visits to the West Chilcotin Plateau, Tallheo Cannery, Thorsen Creek petroglyphs, Bella Coola Estuary, Nooklikonnik Creek, Tastsquan Creek, Salloomt Canyon, Clayton Falls Creek, Snooka West Trail, Necleetsconnay River Estuary, Mt. Nusatsum, Defiance Mtn., Matterhorn Peak, Atnarko River, and the Bella Coola River.

Carl...you probably made the right decision about hiking the last part. By the way....awesome synopsis of the valley and the hospital....you'll definately have to come back some day to do a full length feature. Oh fyi this is the big guy that works in the laboratory. take care!

Thanks for the memories. I grew up in Bella Coola and have relatives there. You did a great job photographing the beauty of "The Valley". I worked at Tallheo Cannery in my youth so it brought back great memories of the rustic experiences 60 years ago when we lived at Atnarko.
