This could apply to anyone. It's the message, not the specifics.

"West Virginia, mountain mama" is "West Georgia, vallley mama" to me. You could apply this to Australia, England, etc. And the only ones that might not like you thinking like that are West Virginians hoping to cling onto like it's their song, but whatever. :3 Forget them if they decide to hate like that..

John Denver first made this song famous .... Olivia sang it with her voice of an angel!!! Great stuff. I used to get misty-eyed when I would drive the last few miles down to my parents' last home (in a wonderful New England village named Little Compton, R.I.). Alas, my sadness was very clairvoyant. Mom died (and so did Dad 18 months after her) just a few years later.
