All the franchise went downhill after this KOF.. All the original KOF magic dissapeared, the classic characters were left aside, just Kyo and Iori with their never-ending fight continued. SNK and then Playmore started to introduce crazy stupid characters just for the sake of it and leaded the story to nowhere (Angel, K9999, Duo Lon, Shen, Malin, Elizabeth and finally Ash just to name a few)

This was the start of the DM obsession in later KOF games, so much focus in flashy cocky super powerful DM

My only complaint about this game is that the boss is just too damned hard. I can't even close in to land a few solid hits. I mean, it's telling about the difficulty that for a mid-boss, they just took the boss from the previous game, and made him tougher.

Rugal and Magaki are a frigging cakewalk compared to Igniz.
