I absolutely agree with the looking into depression rather than tryng to get rid of it immediately. Right now, I'm feeling really down. I feel as if I have been rejected by people who have no empathy. I realize that I have been going to an organization that only seems to bring me down these days, so I need to get away from it. My depression has actually been a good tool to let me know when things are amiss in my life.

People wanting to get rid of their depression immediately is a big problem. It's also the bigger reason why people are given "medication". I agree with this post in a lot of ways.

Years ago I was able to break out of a real down space within a couple of days of taking a prescription antiviral med called aclyclovir. I actually didn't even know I was depressed until it lifted, and the difference was profound. So, I think my depression at that time was caused by a virus. You won't find any doctor willing to prescribe it for depression, though.
