C-K Fire - 18-11, 18-14, 18-13 Responding

Around 5:00AM January 24, 2012, Chatham-Kent Fire Service, Station 18 in Blenheim was dispatched for a shed fire on William St. Units 18-11, 18-14, and 18-13 responded to 44 William St, and quickly knocked the fire down. Crews were on scene for about 45 minutes.

@CBMAwards The second unit of any type at a station, is usually a specialty unit. Sometimes it is a regular rescue. I belive Tilbury used to have 2 rescues. They needed them to carry all of their equipment on. In the case of unit 18-23, it is a specialty rig that carries equipment that is needed to perform rescues from tall buildings, clock towers, chrurch tower, bridges, and other such high places. It is the only one of its type in CK. The others, like 1-13, are regular rescue rigs.

@CBMAwards No. the first number is the station number. ie: 1-xx is from station 1.

The second number is the unit number: x-1x which means it's the first of that type of unit.

The third number is the unit type: x-x1. Which you be a pumper.

so if you have: 3-12, it is from station 3, it is the 1st unit of its type at the station, and it is a tanker / tender.

If you have: 11-22, it is from station 11, it is the second unit of its type at the station, and is a tanker.

So the rescue's (eg 1-13) are Low Angle Rescue?

What is that unit at 1:33? The Ambo Bus behind 18-14. Haven't seen those around Chatham.
