VIGIL OF SOLIDARITY FOR LEONARD PELTIER JULY 28th, 2009

Gathering Time: 7:00 A.M. - 7:30 A.M EDST
Gathering. Place: Corner of Route 15 and William Penn Road
Pennsylvania

Accommodations: Days Inn, Lewisburg, PA

(570) 523-1171. Mention the vigil for a special rate.

Convicted on the basis of fabricated and suppressed evidence, as well as coerced testimony, Leonard Peltier has been imprisoned for over 30 years for a crime he did not commit. Many people believe that the Peltier case is an issue of "left" versus "right". It's not. It's an issue of right versus wrong.

An innocent man, Leonard Peltier was wrongfully convicted in 1977 and has served over 30 years in federal prison despite proof of his innocence.

The United States Courts of Appeal have repeatedly acknowledged investigative and prosecutorial misconduct in this case but, by their decisions, have refused to take corrective action. A model prisoner, Leonard also has been denied fair consideration for parole and Executive Clemency. This is clearly an abuse of the legal standards of American justice.

  • With all the evidence that he didn't do it and the confession of another who is now dead--why is this man not free---WAKE UP PEOPLE AND RECOGNIZE THAT WE ARE AS VULNERABLE AS HE--WE ARE AT THE GOVERNMENTS DISPOSAL.

  • Thank you for taking an interest in our American dissedent/political prisoners. I remember the morning radio news counting the days of Bobby Sand's hunger strike in the early 80s and I carry Bobby's memory as a martyr against tyranny...
