Margaret Rutherfords wobbly jowls

Pure class! They don't write 'em like this anymore, more's the pity! Great films and a wonderful score, what more can you ask for?!

still the best ever.

Aged 40+, my wife has just discovered Margaret Rutherford, and loves the Miss Marple films. For me, the theme music has always been a favourite, ever since I was a boy. I can remember placing a cassette recorder by the TV, and trying to tape it. I think the blend of classic strings, harpsichord, and 60's rhythm had probably always influenced my taste in music. Stands the test of time and is a fitting tribute to Ron Goodwin.

Marvellous stuff. Margaret Rutherford's indomitable Miss Marple wipes the floor with more modern takes, and anyone who can rock a harpsichord like Ron Goodwin deserves praise.

The Margaret Rutherford Miss Marple films were made at MGM's British studios at Elstree. They closed in 1969 due to financial problems. Some fine productions were made there with British talent ( David Tomblin, for example, who was assistant director on some of the Marples went on to greater things with filmed TV series like Danger Man - aka Secret Agent - and The Prisoner) . Google & Wiki for details. Ron Goodwin was amazing. He could create a score for any kind of movie. Thanks to them all!

LA Noire
Pure British.
Movie & Music.
Shame they don't make movies like this any more.
Bigger shame that our movie industry has gone down the drain, like many other things that were British.
Thanks for sharing.
