@SandCmpbll If you think Avatar deserved an Oscar for best picture, that pretty much confirms everything I said. If you leave out the massive special effects budget it's a film that could've been written by Ed Wood.

@bobbytiger Have you even watched the movie? And besides, it is just a movie. Actors can play the total opposite of who they are. That's why they are in the biz

@jgh3115 Thank you. I don't know WHY some people can't get this. Are people that incapable of critical thinking??
-
@pablo4115 actually the movie was more than just that. It's about feeling connected to other human beings, feeling isolated when you're on a plane full of people and it's about how we treat each other as human beings--i.e., the cold firing technique. It's not really about romance at all.

@megamarsvin no actually, they represent the very best in the industry. They sure as hell have their hits and misses--there is no way Hurt Locker should have one best picture. I would have much rather preferred Up In The Air or Avatar. The Academy needs to be concerned with honoring the best, not with making "concessions" just to please viewers who can't handle thought provoking material. That's what the People's Choice and MTV Movie Awards are for.

I still don't know how I feel about the movie. 3 months later.

Yeah so I just watched this movie on Ace Free Movies . com ... really excellent.

great movie

Oscars are just a popularity contest. They say nothing about actual quality.
