NASA hopes to shed new light on the ancient question, "are we alone?" The U.S. space agency will launch the Kepler Mission on March 6, in an effort to learn if there are other planets similar to ours. The mission, named after the 17th century German astronomer Johannes Kepler, will use a telescope orbiting the sun to study more than 100,000 sun-like stars in a section of the Milky Way galaxy. Researchers hope the data returned to Earth will provide crucial details.
