Emily Brontë did not entitle this beautiful poem "Remembrance". In the complete poems, edited by C.W. Hatfield, the poem is listed as being written March 3, 1845 with the title, "R.Alcona To J. Brenzaida". The names refer to Rosina Alcona and Julius Brenzaida, who were characters in her Gondal story. I find the thought expressed in the final three stanzas, a turning point, to be an uncommonly powerful rendering of human feeling. Thank you for uploading this poem.
I find the accompanying music to be quite sharp and annoying ....at least, it does not fit the mood of the poem as I have oft imagined it.
