Nick Jonas Raise Public Awareness WORLDWIDE About Diabetes

I am fully aware That Nick Jonas is not the only one with diabetes but I think Nick is doing a great thing to raise public awareness WORLDWIDE about Diabetes and Helping raise money to do research and find a cure and I support all people that has diabetes




Diabetes Statistics You Might Not Know

*In order for diabetic kids to stay alive, they must infuse insulin through pumps or inject insulin into their bodies on a daily basis and check their blood sugar level multiple times during one day.

*Type 1 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes to develop in children or teenagers, thus is commonly referred to as juvenile diabetes

*Even if diabetic children inject themselves with insulin on a daily basis, their life span is still shortened by an average of 15 years.

*More than 20 million Americans live with diabetes. Diabetes affects 246 million people worldwide.

*Every 10 seconds one person dies of diabetes. In the same 10 seconds two more people develop the disease.

*If type 1 diabetes is not treated it can lead to death. Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness, heart attack, amputation and kidney failure.

*Out of the 30,000 Americans that are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, over 13,000 of them are children. This is approximately 35 children everyday.

*By the year 2025, the number of people with diabetes will reach 380 million.

when i read the diabetes facts you put there it made me cry because the one about it shortens his life on an average of 15 years because he is such a great person and he is doing som much for everyone that he shouldnt have his life shortened like that :( that made me really really sad :(...and i love thius song what is it called?

I have diabetes myself.. but I really want to tell everyone that you don't have to feel bad for "us". There are really a lot worse things out there. If you just take the time to control and learn your body, it doesn't have to mean you can't chase and live your dreams! I'm From Holland, and I'm an Ambassador/Rolemodel for kids that are having struggles with this condition.. if we work together.. we can fight it!

I am currently dealing with quite a few people in my life that have diabetes, blessed as I am, I don't have it. But everyday I pray for the health of people around the world that have this condition.

It's not the end of the world, my wife has type 1 for over 24 years, you can have a normal life you just have to be a bit more cautious than other people
