  • This is better than the actual video for this song... by the way love this song and Salem. I'm so sick of reading all the shit they get. Let them do drugs and be apathetic, if they keep making catchy and atmospheric music, who gives a fuck?

  • What the fuck kind of crazy shit is this. You people are freaks!

  • @damianramey Maby your the freak and we are the norm. This is wonderfull and amazing. Its alive.True in all forms no mater the deformities.

  • well i liked it

  • once again, best video ever... toking at it the 100.. time it not even scary just beautiful :D

  • And even if the indigenous folks were trying to cast a hex or something: I can't tell. They might be praying for rain. Or fertility. Primitive people who believe in magic overwhelmingly want good things and are scared of witches and people who would use magic for harm.

  • Yeah, it's racist. All the horror motifs - satan handing a dagger to a nun, etc. - are familiar but threatening images in our culture. They are symbols of evil. The primitive people are almost certainly conducting a ceremony that is harmless and should not be included.

Trying to shock an audience by showing another culture is the only disturbing thing in this video.

  • [cont] --fucked because it makes them into an exotic fetish or like, symbol of (whatever) to be used in people's music videos as examples of something crazy or weird or sexual or whatever.

It's one thing to throw in a crazy picture of like, a giraffe with tattoos &three heads. Abnormal. But these are people whose abuse has been justified by making them seem inhuman.

And yeah I know it's a killjoy to criticize racism but whatever I'll rain on the systems-of-hate parade every time I see it.

  • @Wackylackyironlacky Begotten.

  • @NarcoticDigitalism It's racism in a way that people often don't think of racism, especially because indigenous societies/cultures/bodies are seen to be more removed from our own. But these people exist, and have been systematically murdered, enslaved, and abused (and are still treated this way, though slavery goes by different names).

Sorry about the lecture-type tone, what I'm really trying to say is that taking photos like that or elements of their culture out of context is fucked. [cont]

  • @berriesinacup Not racism, a lot of pictures from witchhouse videos are of indiginous africans.
