@Ambereigh No he didn't he returned in another Dimension in the end. And that was it. So yeah Stefan and Elena technically end up together. And the books are finished.

@sit2go what are you talking about? in the LAST book LJ wrote which was midnight...Damon came back to life at the end of THAT book ....which LJ WROTE...so how is he still dead to you if L.J. wrote him back to life..?

@Ambereigh Like I told someone else. I don't consider the new books canon. Since LJ Smith did not write it. Damon is still dead.

@9thwonderANDme disregard what that other person said Elena does not CHOOSE Stefan..Damon died so she didn't have a choice anymore but he came back to life in the end of the book :) but the books are not done being written so who ends up w/ who is still up in the air.

@sit2go she does not CHOOSE Stefan..Damon died so she was left WITHOUT a choice she told Stefan after he saw how completely devastated she was w/the fact tht she could not live n a world w/o a Damon in it..when Stefan and that guy tried 2 compell her to forget all she could do was think about Damon.." I love you JUST as much as I love Damon." so he wouldn't feel bad.. not sayingg that she didn't mean it but she loved BOTH of them to say and u left out the part were he comes back 2 life.

@xoxo2shy The books have ended because LJ Smith was fired from writing them. The company who owned the books hired someone else to write it and just use LJ Smith's name. The new books mean nothing because its not part of LJ's vision for the series.
The last book LJ wrote for TVD is Midnight. And in that one Elena chooses Stefan and Damon dies.
