Ok I admit it - I really did hug my computer screen, I'm so lame LOL. Kudos for popping out of your suitcase ;)
I think China usually only blocks youtube during certain sensitive times, like the anniversary of the Tiannamen incident...so it should work most of the time...but I'm not in China so yeah hmm...

Hey I'm doing exactly the same course (well just straight Chinese Studies)- what's it like?? I'm hopefully going to Sheffield and Nanjing too- what's the course at Sheffield like? What was Nanjing like? Also, you're obviously natively Asian, I take it you could speak fluent Asian before you started the course? Is that the same for most people on the course? Because I can't speak any Chinese at all!! Thanks could you leave it as a personal message? x x

@SarahF010 Speak Asian? Lol, what the hell? No I only spoke Cantonese. I didn't speak Mandarin which is what I'm learning now. Obviously if I spoke it fluently I wouldn't be taking the course ... And actually, most people on the course never had any previous knowledge of Mandarin.
I'm British so I'm not actually native to China .. and my parents are native to Hong Kong.

China is pure shit. If you'd done any research you'd be studying Chinese in non-commie Taiwan.

@13mordeth Err ... I didn't choose to go to mainland China to study ... it's a compulsory part of my degree.
