On Thursday, February 8, 2006 at 8 p.m. EST, join NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital orthopedic surgeons Drs. William B. Macaulay and Jeffrey A. Geller for a web cast discussion on total hip resurfacing. The doctors will show highlights from an actual total hip resurfacing surgery, discuss the procedure and its promise as an alternative to total hip replacement, and engage in a live question and answer session with audience members.
Dr. Macaulay trained under Drs. Derek McMinn and Ronan Treacy, the Birmingham, England-based orthopedic surgeons who developed the implant for total hip resurfacing.
Forgot to mention that i was 33, and 10 stone when diagnosed with Avas Nec. This, no doubt is why i am going through such a speedy recovery.
Prednisolone contributed to saving my life so im not that pissed off that it caused me to get a new hip.

I was diagnosed with NHL back in 2000 and as well as chemo and all the other medication i was on i of course had to take steroids to build up my immune system. Prednisolone was the steroids i was taking. Unfortunately two years on (2002) this caused me to contract Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head. Anyway, I had a Total Hip Replacemant on Monday 18th June 2007 and was out on Thursday 21st June 2007. I felt fine and even went for a pint on Thursday night, no shit.

just had this procedure done. Ended years of pain in hip. I have been doing Martial arts for 40 years and suffered with hip pain over the last 5 years. Pain is gone and I am on the way back to the dojo for more productive years. Thank You Dr. Evans from San Antonio, Texas who performed the technique.
