The words sense and governments don't even belong in the same sentence. It's almost an oxymoron. Drugs will continue to remain illegal in most of the world because the common people in America and elsewhere are stupid. The corrupt lawyers and dishonest clergymen want to keep drugs illegal and it serves their interest. High crime rate serve as a great distraction to the morons of this world who can't see the truth if it is steering them in the face.

@bluegreen1138 I'm much the same way, but as for him I actually respect the proper title; that's rare for me. I would call him "Sir" and actually mean it.
Look at the example of Portugal - Heroin use massively down as a result of decriminalisation - Richard Branson talks sense - this country drinks itself to death whilst harping on about cannabis use - pathetic :(
