Despite a booming economy, the financial crisis has exposed Chinas overdependence on exports to maintain its growth. As Beijing struggles to get its economy back on track, it looks to its local consumers for help.

  • The longer we wait the worst its gonna be, we gotta organize or we may never get back.

  • Maybe 10 years from now or possibly sooner, China will be the one consuming while America goes back to producing. But first things first: end the Federal Reserve and fractional reserve banking. That way, salaries and savings actual mean something again.

  • "Nation of Window Shoppers" is a somewhat curious description of China's retail market, especially as all sorts of very expensive and upscale stores have invested heavily in setting up shop.

    A downturn in the Chinese domestic market probably means a disproportionate fall in the sales of those foreign retailers BTW.

  • Industrial output is still strong, and there is no alternative to cheap goods Made In China for many consumers around the world. If anything, the recession might have slowed China's record growth statistics, but her export industries are still doing well in comparison to those of so many others. The numbers are all there for anyone to check.

  • Many western goods are made in China, so if the Chinese buy those brands, or know what the equivalent Chinese named brands are, there should not be any problem about the quality.
