The Flying Scotsman 4472 the most famous locomotive in the world is being put back on track.

She was saved by the nation in 2004, is a star icon of the National Collection, and is currently being restored to make her fit to return to main line operations in 2010.

You can also visit the National Railway Museum to find out more about the Flying Scotsman.There is a fascinating permanent exhibition The Flying Scotsman Story and some of the restoration work is also taking place in the Museum workshop,together with a daily workshop round up talk explaining the latest news about the restoration.
