It took me a bit to "see" it for the first time, too. Try pausing the life cycle vid at 0:04 and then cover the left or right side of the butterfly with your hand so you can see only one half. The dog's head is looking off to the side from the center of the butterfly. You only see a dog's head profile, the black spot is the eye, with the forehead directly above and in front of the eye, and the snout/neck out in front of and below ththat. It might take a little imagination, but you'll get it :-)

The is an image of a dog's head (profile) on each forewing (only on the males) looking outward from the center...

why is it 'dog face' cant see any resemblance of a dog's face :(
