Yes, you can do it in less than a minute if you did it without blablabing!

Please, if you are commenting, be polite in expressing your views.

Extra Credit goes to Gwerzal for his post about MS Narrator & web browser @ given website.

If you have IE as default web browser then you can skip the Firefox part where I search for the taskmgr.exe to run IE, because it will run as soon as you click the Microsoft Web Site link.

If you got the IE, just enter C:\ in the URL bar & it will crash. I've also tried C: & managed to crash it as well. (Did not test any other combinations)

It seems that Windows has a self locking mechanism that keeps locking the Desktop & Task bar as well as explorer.exe every 30 to 60 seconds.

Just repeat what you've done in the beginning to unlock it again. I know this is inconvenient but hey! It's better than not having access at all!

As for my case, even if I managed to have a valid product key, I couldn't activate through the internet. I had ZoneAlarm firewall installed on the system & it prevented the windows activation system from contacting MS server. (Another Stupidity from Microsoft) - Nothing should have loaded before the system. (I know that AVs & Firewalls would start ahead of other programs to be able to monitor the activity).

Finally, I'd like to say, please don't be a pirate. I've hated Microsoft in many phases in my life & switched to Linux eventually. Even if you think Microsoft is bad in anyway, that doesn't justify being a pirate! If you don't want it, don't buy it! (And don't install a pirated copy)

People & large companies are now switching to OpenSource software. Intel said It's riding the OpenSource wave. So people, freedom is on the way.

As for having trouble ending the movie, the Windows stupid Moviemaker doesn't allow you to cut within the final displayed credits. Even if you have a music track extending after the video finishes, it continues till the track is finished. I had to manually cut the audio clip to the time needed for credits.

Hope you like it... Am sue Microsoft will be pissed off & would fix this in soon future updates.

Note: I've edited the title "Activation/deactivation" Cause some people might search for Bypass Windows Activation.

  • That's fun, but pointless seeing how you could just get Linux "Linux ubuntu with compiz fusion" for free, and launch windows form linux using a virtual machine + TinyXP or Tiny7... :)

  • I did mention I got Kubuntu as default OS, in fact all my 3 computers running Linux & trying to isntall the Win7 RC now within Linux using Virtual box.

As for running XP in a virtual machine, you should know that you should have a license for that separately.

It is illegal to run it there without a license ;)

  • When I bought my computer, it came with a free Microsoft Office one month trial.

I activated Windows once I got the computer on the internet, and after 30 days the Office trial ended and Windows said it wasn't activated.

Bad news was, my legal copy of Windows was stolen, so I reformatted and used a pirated copy. I haven't paid for Windows since, screw them.

  • Turn music off PLEASE, It's very annoyed!!!

  • Aft u find the tskmanager, and click 'run',just key in 'explorer.exe' (without the - ' -s in it) and you will have your desktop! Mine doesn't disappear. Not sure about yours. Saves loads of time

  • Worked 100% on Server 2003 Enterprise. Here was my situation: I was working with Windows Server 2003 Enterprise for a work project and had set all of my network adapters to have static addresses. Well when you can't touch a project and your license expires, assuming you have all your adapters configured in a static configuration, you can't activate Windows even if you select "Automatically Detect Settings". This allowed me to bypass Windows activation and reconfigure my network adapters

  • I got problems bringing up a help menu, but I opened the On-Screen-Keyboard and I got the internet!

  • Thanks for introducing me to a new band. Even though it was not what I was looking for, I enjoyed the video.

  • Hey Man! Are you trying to help people out? That is nice , but why the HELL you put such an annoying music? Are we at this page to listen to that SHIT music or to listen your important instruction that might be helpful to some of us. You should try running the video and listen yourself if you can hear anything other than the noise background music. PLEASE TURN OFF THE MUSIC ASAP or remove the video. IT won't help anyone at all if the music is playing in background THANK YOU
