Sargon of Akkad, Hammurabi, Nebuchadnezzar II are all ancient Iraqi leaders. Assyria, Babylon, Samaria are all ancient Iraqi civilization and yes Iraq is the birth place of Civilization and culture.

I personally agree with you that there seems to be evidence of a great antediluvian world civilization. I'm not sure what of what my father's thoughts were on the matter, but I imagine he would not have dismissed the possibility.
