  • Sargon of Akkad, Hammurabi, Nebuchadnezzar II are all ancient Iraqi leaders. Assyria, Babylon, Samaria are all ancient Iraqi civilization and yes Iraq is the birth place of Civilization and culture.

    Simple as that!

  • Sumerian is the oldest recorded civilization that is documented in writing.

I personally agree with you that there seems to be evidence of a great antediluvian world civilization. I'm not sure what of what my father's thoughts were on the matter, but I imagine he would not have dismissed the possibility. His teacher, Professor Cyrus Gordon held some rather cutting-edge ideas about the reach of ancient civilizations throughout the world including the Americas. -- Becky Neiman, PDE

  • @narrowcross All correct except fopr Samaria..Samaria was a neighbor of Judah in the Levant region. You mean Sumeria

  • Iraq is sure enriched with thousands of years of history.

  • @maxillusionist The ancient pronunciation of Sargon was "Sharrukin," meaning, in Akkadian, "the true king." Many modern-day Assyrians name their sons Sharrukin, as well as Sargon, as they are the same name.
