WNEV-TV 7 Sign-On - Hal Douglas (1987, faux)

A faux WNEV sign-on from late 1987, featuring one of America's most well-known voiceover and TV personalities, the avuncular Hal Douglas. Hal sounded little different here, delivering station plugs and broadcast info in the same warm style as he does with network promos and movie trailers today. Many stations wish they had him; perhaps ratings for The New England News would have risen if WNEV actually became a client of his?

Clips of Hal from his "anti-trailer" of Jerry Seinfeld's 2002 flick Comedian bookend this sign-on. He played the announcer "Jack".
